This course provides the student with an understanding of the theory of welding and the operation of different welding machines. Practical laboratory experience allows the student to master basic skills and quality of workmanship.

The curriculum covers basic welding and the techniques of oxyacetylene, electric arc welding, silver soldering, brazing and torch cutting. Advanced training is provided in (TIG) tungsten and (MIG) metal inert gas welding, blueprint reading and flame cutting.

Students obtain knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment, using welding in technical and construction industries.
