REGIONAL OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAM

ADULT STUDENT FEES

1.      For adult students, the enrollment fee is $55.00 payable with registration.  This fee is per course and is non-refundable.  Only checks or money orders payable to MCOE-ROP will be accepted.

2.      Adult students will purchase their own textbooks and/or supplementary materials as required by the class.

3.      High school students and adult hardship cases do not have to pay this registration fee.

4.      Fee waiver guidelines for hardship cases are listed below:

a.                   CalWORKs/TANF

b.                  MEDI-CAL, Food Stamps, WIC - Permanent or temporary Medical card in student's name, County check warrant, current ID card, food stamp authorization, social worker referral.

c.                   Supplemental Security Income (SSI) - SSI documentation.

d.                  Adult Attending Less than 20 Hours to Finish Requirement for the Certificate of Proficiency for a Course - Program referral.

e.                   Other - Requests must be referred to ROP Administration.  Approval will be given to an adult who is eligible for economic public assistance or student aid and/or with income levels below $12,500 for single persons or $25,000 per household with an additional $1,000 per dependent child.

Rationale - These fee waiver options are in keeping with federal and state guidelines to prevent a potential student hardship.  Other waivers are determined based on program guidelines.

5.      These adult fees will be collected at the normal registration site.  The teacher responsible for each class turns in the fee with the student application/attendance forms.

6.      These fees are not tuition.  They are to help defray the cost of classroom supplies, processing, and materials.
